My allergic little boy used to love the original formulation. So I ordered 10 jars through a friend from Redmart. Now the name on the label has changed from “kaya spread” to “pandan coconut cashew butter” - I don’t care about the name change but the consistency, colour and taste has completely changed. Absolutely gutted and upset that we were not made aware the name has changed which would have given a clue to the taste etc change, and at wasting $100 on something that will likely not be eaten. Super super disappointed in Everiday and Redmart. Complaints will be raised with Redmart too. But Everiday has lost a very loyal customer.
Firstly, this doesnt taste like Kaya at all. Perhaps these are more suited for expats. Locals will not identify this as kaya. Secondly, it tastes bitter from the coconut. It has obviously gone rancid due to the smelly oily taste. Contacted customer service and they refused to do an exchange or a refund. It looked so good that I bought 4 bottles to get the free delivery. Would rather throw away than to give my friends. Both cookies tasted meh. Only the house chilli was decent. Never coming back again,
Thank you GT, as we spoke, this is Everiday's take on Kaya, as its vegan the texture is quite different to a traditional Kaya and more like a nut butter, and using coconut sugar in place of refined sugar it is much less sweet. We will be reducing the coconut content slightly in our next batch so will be less punchy! We don't use emulsifiers there is some oil separation which goes away with a quick stir. Apologies that we asked a lot of questions as part of your feedback but we of course we would refund if you weren't happy.
I bought these as gifts for friends and packed them nicely into my suitcase. Unfortunately all 3 jars of the jam leaked and half spilled out. They are not properly sealed. Its not a great first impression unfortunately .
Organic Pandan Coconut Spread (Kaya)
It is smooth and softly sweet. For those who like cocunut … it is a must have. Love it!!!!
